3 min readLombard’s Private Beta launch on Mainnet is live, ahead of Babylon’s Bitcoin Staking Mainnet Launch on the 22nd August. Those on the waitlist now have access to mint LBTC, deposit into Lombard’s DeFi Yield Vault, swap ERC-20’s for LBTC, and more.
This article provides a short overview of the features live today, ahead of a larger and more complete announcement when Lombard and LBTC is available to all as part of our Public Launch phase. Waitlist members are receiving access codes and instructions via email. By entering these access codes on the Lombard WebApp, users will be granted access to stake native Bitcoin and mint LBTC.

Lombard’s DeFi Vault is designed to bridge the gap between bitcoin and DeFi, by offering LBTC holders one-click access to DeFi yields without any of the complexities. It accepts LBTC, and WBTC, and seeks to capture the best opportunities derived from multiple DeFi strategies.
Lombard’s DeFi Vault is built using the Veda infrastructure. Veda is a native yield protocol that partners with projects like Lombard to tokenize yields in their DeFi ecosystem and make those yields more accessible to users. Veda already boasts $1 billion in TVL and serves as infrastructure for ether.fi Liquid.

Only native BTC can be staked into Lombard.
Users can make use of the Lombard Swap feature to swap ERC-20 tokens like WBTC, tBTC directly to LBTC. Swaps are routed by 1inch.

Future plans include integrations with innovative bitcoin Layer-2s and next-generation chains.
